Bernie Sanders and Phish want to make America chill again.

U.S. presidential candidate Bernie Sanders appears to be the celebrity endorsed darling for the 2016 race, with everyone from actors Susan Sarandon and Jason Bateman to UFC star Ronda Rousey publicly showing their support. Rapper/activist Killer Mike, meanwhile, has actually been hitting the road with Sanders, introducing him at a number of rallies.

Still, we couldn’t be sure the candidate had locked down the 40-something hippie/stoner vote – until now. At a Portland, Maine rally, Sanders called Phish “one of the great bands in this country” and drew attention to the fact that members of the band are fervent supporters.

The topic came up when Sanders thanked the Kenya Hall Band, which had opened up for him, as Phish drummer Jon Fishman sat in for the performance and also spoke on Bernie’s behalf. However, this is far from Fishman’s first endorsement. The drummer actually joined Twitter last summer solely to support the senator.

Fishman says he’s been “watching Sanders” for over 30 years having moved to Burlington, Vermont the same year the politician became mayor of the city. While the drummer is by far the band’s most active voice of support, he’s not the only one: during Sanders’ successful 2006 run for the U.S. Senate, Phish bassist Mike Gordon and keyboardist Page McConnell joined Fishman at a ‘Sanders for Senate’ concert.

Watch Gordon at the beginning of the video below talk about what a hella sweet dude Sanders is and the freakishly talented McConnell show the political crowd what “Page side, Rage side” means.
