It's the low frequency music event of 2016!

Are you headed to Times Square tonight? If so, bring your dog and your Laurie Anderson fandom with you. The musician/performance artist is trotting out a special concert event aimed directly at your pooch.

The “O Superman” singer has beaten the Baha Men at their own “music tackling dog issues” game to provide a special concert at 11:30 p.m. on Monday, January 4 in New York City. Anderson will offer up a low frequency performance that will be palatable for canine listening and aimed at that panting Snausage-obsessed demo. On the off-chance you don’t have the hearing attributes of a dog, 350 sets of wireless headphones will be available to human listeners.

Anderson’s concert ties in nicely with the artist’s critically gushed over documentary Life of a Dog. A special three-minute cut of the film will also be screened tonight as part of the Midnight Moment series. It may also be talked about by people that are bummed that the Times Square Olive Garden is closed.

This isn’t the first time there’s been a Laurie Anderson crafted concert for dogs. In 2010, Sydney played host to a similar shindig. Here’s how Anderson described hearing her dog attendees bark near the end of that Australian performance:

“It was a beautiful sound. They barked for five minutes. That was one of the happiest moments of my life.”
