Punk godfather and Queens of the Stone Age singer, together at last.

If you regularly lament the fact that you’ve never seen Iggy Pop live, you might want to hold on to your socks for this news.

The punk godfather will be going on tour in support of his upcoming album Post Pop Depression – and collaborator Josh Homme will be joining him. The pair surprised everyone with the announcement of the album which they’d worked on in secret and sans-label, enlisting Dead Weather guitarist Dean Fertita and Arctic Monkeys drummer Matt Helders.

To sweeten the deal, the tour lineup adds Queens of the Stone Age guitarist Troy Van Leeuwen and alternative hero Matt Sweeney, who will take on bass duties.

The tour will span nearly two months and take the group throughout the United States and a few European countries, with the sole Canadian stop being Toronto’s Sony Centre for the Performing Arts. Pre-sale tickets (which range from $75-130) are on sale now.
