Handshake Inc. is up for sale on Toronto Craigslist. (Serious inquiries only.)

If you’ve ever fantasized about becoming a cigar chomping music mogul, Handshake Inc. has a deal for you. The metal/noise record label is closing up shop and can be yours for $5,000 if you can scrape it together.

Self-billed as “a boutique film and music video production company, record label and publisher specializing in sounds and visions of the underground,” Handshake Inc. posted an ad on Toronto Craigslist looking for interested buyers. The sale of the company was brought on by label head David Hall being forced to deal with “a gradual but unforeseen onset of a very serious health issue.”

If you have the dough to buy Handshake Inc., you’ll be the new owner of an independent label with releases from acts like Blackslisters, Pyrrhon, and… um… Couch Slut. Serious inquires only, of course.

According to the Craigslist post, the sale “includes back catalogue of eps, lps, 3 dvd titles and one book title. North American and International distribution, digital royalties, press contacts, remaining stock (vinyl, dvds), 2k twitter followers and 2k facebook likes all included with sale. Perfect for: hobbyists, pros, and any goal oriented people who still maintain a sense of hope and wonder about the music industry.”

Please send us a message if you’re the lucky new owner of the label. We have questions.
