The Needle Drop's Anthony Fantano incorrectly attributed as Oregon shooter

The mass shooting at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, Oregon is far from a laughing matter.

Sadly, that hasn’t stopped members of the 4chan message board from making some tasteless jokes about the identity of the gunman, including using a photo of The Needle Drop music reviewer (and occasional AUX contributor) Anthony Fantano to confuse members of the media. Australia’s SBS News took the bait and incorrectly attributed Fantano’s photo in a broadcast on the tragic events. Watch the clip below:

This tactless trolling stems from the fact that 26-year-old gunman Christopher Harper-Mercer reportedly posted about his intentions on 4chan prior to the shooting. Boarders noticed some vague resemblances to the 31-year-old Fantano and decided to run with it, but thankfully it was quickly corrected by Needle Drop viewers. The Internet’s Busiest Music Nerd has also issued a suitably sombre response:
