More like... slurred lines.

Earlier this summer, the original verdict in the “Blurred Lines” trial was dropped down from a $7.4 million award to the family of Marvin Gaye to $5.3 million. However, this came with a catch: Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams now have to give up 50% of all future royalties from their song, with Universal Music and T.I. held accountable for copyright infringement as well. No matter what their feelings are on that decision, some newly revealed deposition videos see the controversial trial keep on delivering embarrassing moments for the duo.

The Hollywood Reporter has obtained and edited together a series of short clips where Thicke admits the following: He was high and drunk every time he did an interview in 2013. He was blasted off his face on Vicodin when he was interviewed by Oprah. And perhaps most damning of all, he has admitted to lying to the press for a single purpose: “When I give interviews, I tell whatever I want to say to help sell records.” When asked if he considers himself an honest person, Thicke simply said “No.”

In Pharell’s longer series of deposition video clips, he doesn’t manage to maintain the same placid coolness. After being continually prodded by an attorney with a series of questions about the song’s creative process, a visibly upset Williams shakes his head and says “I’m not here to teach you music.” The best moment is his scathing quote on the similarities between “Blurred Lines” and Marvin Gaye’s “Got to Give It Up”: “The truth of the matter is silk and rayon are two different things. They just feel the same.”
