Man kills friend with electric guitar after binge watching The Walking Dead

At any moment, Netflix and chill can turn into Netflix and kill, and the odds go way up when you pair your binge-watching of a bleak, gruesome zombie show with hours of binge-drinking.

A New Mexico man allegedly beat a friend to death with a microwave, a guitar, knives, and his bare feet and hands after believing he’d morphed into a zombie. Damon Perry told police he’d been drinking while binge-watching The Walking Dead on Netflix with Christopher Paquin in a Grants, New Mexico housing complex when he saw Paquin morph into a ravenous zombie, presumably intent on liberating his brains from his skull, and drunkenly responded with violence.

Police were called to the housing complex where the incident took place after two maintenance workers subdued Perry, who had been chasing other residents around while wielding a pair of scissors. According to the Grants police department spokesman, mental illness is not a suspected cause, and that both they and the suspect “attribute it to being highly intoxicated.”

After Perry sobered up, he realized the only monster in existence during the night was the spectre of alcohol abuse. “He’s had the time to sober up and realize what has happened, and he has expressed remorse,” the police spokesman said.
