Teams losing at stadiums that have hosted Swift now have bad blood.

The superstitious types over at ESPN have recently discovered that several teams playing in stadiums that have hosted a Taylor Swift performance are now on a losing streak. Could that hex hit the Toronto Blue Jays when she plays at Rogers Centre this weekend?

The Houston Astros have dropped down to an 8-11 record since Swift’s appearance at Minute Maid Park (yes, that’s a baseball stadium and not some kind of Willy Wonka-esque orange juice wonderland). The Washington Nationals have also fallen to 32-39 since the 1989 tour stop in July (also potentially causing a power outage), with the team now out of the postseason hunt.

Finally, the San Diego Padres have also gone 11-18 since the artist’s August performance at Petco Park. The Taylor Swift Sports Curse™ may even extend to football, with the BC Lions 1-2 in home games since she played BC Place on Aug. 1.

The Blue Jays start Game 1 of the American League Divisional Series on October 8. Should supertitious fans be scared? The creator of “First Place”, a Jays-themed “Blank Space” parody, says nah. “Oh my god/Look at this team/Could be better than ‘93.”
