Sorry Milhouse, but it's time we let Langdon Alger into our hearts.

What’s not love about the planet’s favourite 8-year-old intellectual? Lisa Simpson has had her share of admirers, but one of her biggest crushes appears to be the inspiration for an EP released by Manchester antifolk outfit Crywank.

The band rebranded themselves as Langdon Alger for a Simpsons-fuelled seven track offering titled Following The Lizard Queen. Do you remember Langdon Alger? He’s the boy Lisa confessed to having a crush on when she stayed with her dad Homer in the Springfield Power Plant. His main attributes? He’s very quiet and good at puzzles, two traits that Milhouse Van Houten probably lacks.

Under their Langdon Alger guise, the group have knocked out such tunes as “Choo-Choo-Choose Me,” “R.I.P. Linguo” and “Veggie Buddhist Eco Prince.”

“I loved a girl. Lisa Simpson. I loved her for what felt like 21 years, which makes no sense as I’m just a young boy,” reads a splash of prose attached to the 2014 release. “Unsure how to approach a relationship (I’m quiet and spend most of my time doing puzzles) I foolishly began following her. I also began plotting to kill everyone she became romantically involved with, although I never followed through. I stopped following her and wrote these songs instead.”

Always a healthy choice to scrap murder plans. Especially when it interferes with the prospect of one day touring with Okilly Dokilly.
