"Pig's Mouth Strikes Again" is the topical soundtrack to the David Cameron story.

As far as political scandals go, (allegedly) ‘putting your private part’ in the mouth of a dead pig corpse ranks pretty high on the image-tarnishing scale. It’s probably somewhere just below “murdered a dog on live TV”, or this photo. But that’s just the (pig) skeleton in the closet that current UK prime minister David Cameron is dealing with this week, and a new song from a tongue-in-pork-cheek Smiths cover act looks to add insult to uh, incredibly gross, possibly factual insult.

Satirical Smiths tribute band The Iain Duncan Smiths, who are known for transforming the Manchester band’s hits into political statements, have just the song to soundtrack the media frenzy. They’ve recorded a cover of The Smiths’ 1986 single “Bigmouth Strikes Again”, aptly re-titled “Pig’s Mouth Strikes Again”. Ehhh… B+. I mean, this is band that has songs like “Meat Is Murder” and “The Headmaster Ritual”, not to mention “Last Night I Dreamt That Somebody Loved Me”, and that’s the one you’re gonna go with?

Stream “Pig’s Mouth Strikes Again” below:

The British tabloids have been having a field week ever since the allegation surfaced in an unofficial biography that the PM placed a certain part of his anatomy in a dead pig’s mouth during some kind of secret society hazing ritual at Oxford University while he was a student there in the 1980s. Oh yeah, I think I remember that deleted scene from The Skulls. David Cameron has of course called the claim ‘utter nonsense’, but what are you going to do when accused of something like this? Just own it? “Yeah, that was me… all part of my brand, baby. David Cameron: Pigheaded when it comes to my constituents.”

All David Cameron has to do is ride this out, a week from now and a saturation point will be reached, and we’ll all be saying “that joke isn’t funny anymore” and no one will remember this in another month. Ironically, that was the point of the Black Mirror episode that somehow predicted this story. I think everyone can agree that the last word should probably belong to the man responsible for the 2011 TV show about the UK prime minister having sex with a pig:
