The Black Sabbath singer will front a fake metal band, according to sources.

If the rumour mills are to be believed, the Prince of Darkness will be returning to the screen for his scariest role since puttering around the house with Sharon, Jack, and Kelly.

The Boston Herald shared news of their “spy on the scene” overhearing Ghostbusters crew chatting about Ozzy at a recent shoot. A concert scene at the Citi Wang Theatre featured posters for a “Rock Revenge Fest featuring Ozzy Osbourne” as part of a “12 Hour Marathon of Metal.” Earlier, the film issued a casting call for Zebraman styled extras to “play the audience at a heavy metal concert” between July 28 and 30.

Director Paul Feig’s upcoming reboot starring Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones, Kate McKinnon and Melissa McCarthy has also landed cameos from original Ghostbusters Bill Murray and Dan Ackroyd. Our only real question at this point is who will be cast to play Slimer.
