Michael Jordan made fun of Macklemore's Air Jordans

Macklemore learned this lesson the hard way. In a recent interview/shoe shopping segment with Complex, the Seattle rapper shared a story of what it was like meeting the Tune Squad legend and showing off his custom Air Jordan colorways that were still in the design stage. The review from the basketball god was less than kind.

“I showed him the shoe, I have two pairs, the greens and the clays, and he was like ‘I don’t like green,” Macklemore recalls Jordan saying. “Fuck green. It reminds me of some Christmas shit. No one is trying to wear some Christmas shoes.’ Just completely discarded my color.”

MJ’s attitude probably explains why Nike’s never cracked the elusive North Pole market. Maybe he’s just salty over Run-D.M.C. establishing that Adidas contract with Santa Claus.

By the way, Jordan may have shit on Macklemore’s design during their encounter, but at least the dude got a photo out of the deal. Here it is plucked out of the archives.
