Metal’s legions of long-haired disciples are among the music world’s most devoted fans, so of course they’d be skeptical of anyone claiming to distill the essence of metal into just 12 measly gifs, like we’re doing here.
Granted, it is an impossible task. Even some kind of mega-gallery 1000 gifs-strong wouldn’t be able to do justice to the music, the lifestyle, and the legends of heavy metal. That being said, “you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take” – the metal luminary known as “The Great One” (sweet Cthulhu ref) who shredded in The Oilers, a beloved Canadian band of hairy unkempt freaks. He obviously knew what he was talking about!
