We imagine the odds of Paul Rudd coming back are slim.

Clueless turns 20 this year because time is a cruel nadpuncher and it looks like the 90s comedy classic is finally getting its long rumoured musical adaptation.

The film’s writer-director Amy Heckerling has confirmed that Clueless (the movie version, not the TV adaptation) is stage bound and declares she’s already written the book for it.

“It’s a jukebox musical,” shared Heckerling which should either thrill you or raise six thousand red flags in front of you face.

No casting decisions have been made for the Clueless musical, but we’re reasonably confident mass riots will break out if Iggy Azalea takes on the Cher Horowitz role.

“Well casting — that’s like going to be like the main problem,” said Heckerling on the matter.

The show has locked down a director, though. Rock of Ages Broadway helmer Kristen Hanggi has signed on to bring the tale Cher, Dionne and Tai to the stage and Dodger Theatrics will be producing.

In the mood for more Clueless talk? Why should we listen to you? You’re a virgin who can’t drive. WE KID! Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. Check out Anne T. Donahue’s 10 reasons why the Clueless soundtrack still holds up which popped up here on AUX a couple years back.
