Joni Mitchell reportedly in a coma

Earlier this month, Joni Mitchell was rushed to the hospital and placed in intensive care after reportedly being found unconscious in her L.A. home. She was soon said to be awake and in good spirits, and while not much else was known about her condition at the time, it is being reported this afternoon that she is again in the hospital, this time in an unresponsive coma. [Update: as of this evening, Joni’s reps deny the claim.]

TMZ reports that “Joni’s close friend of 44 years, Leslie Morris, has just filed legal docs to obtain a conservatorship over the legendary singer. Morris says Joni told her she has no close relatives who could assume the role.”

Billboard is also reporting, via “several sources,” that though not much was disclosed about her condition initially, it was, and remains, very serious.
