What do you think cut deeper: Tom DeLonge leaving Blink-182 or Zayn Malik leaving One Direction?

Of course we know which one elicited the more dramatic reaction, but both hit fans where it hurts.

Because trolls live for moments like this, the Internet was quick to combine the two. While Redditors were sneaking staged footage of their heartbroken reactions with news stations, Wikipedia sleuths were hijacking pages. And if you went to One Direction’s page at the right time, you might have noticed Zayn had apparently been replaced by lip ringed conspiracy theorist and punk-pop impresario Tom DeLonge.
