See you in the pit, Drew Carey.

There was a time when Adam Dutkiewicz was the guy in metalcore. Alongside his guitar playing in Killswitch Engage, his glossy production style helped define metal’s early-noughts boom, honing a sound that quickly, and curiously, became known as “the new wave of American heavy metal.”

While that trend has wavered in recent years, Dutkiewicz is nonetheless still a respected, if not divisive, name in heavy music. He does okay; but not, apparently, too well to be on the Price is Right.

Adam D’s episode of the Drew Carey hosted show aired yesterday, and not only did he show up dressed like a legit humanโ€”a stark contrast to kooky get-ups he’s known forโ€”but he totally fucking killed it.

So how good did Dutkiewicz do? He walked away with more than $50,000 in prizes. Early in the game he won a yellow Honda Fit. Later, he made it to the Showcase Showdown, where he cleaned up, winning a trip to California, an adorable trailerโ€ฆ and a Nissan Frontier truck to pull it.

To recap: Two cars, a vacation, and a trailer, which for a touring musician might actually come in handy.

Naturally, his bandmates and record label were stoked:

But nobody was happier than Dutkiewicz himself, and rightly soโ€”he cleaned up.

Oh, and Drew? See you in the pit:
