He says the government is using mind control on him and has tapped his phones.

Tom DeLonge has had his share of problems this year. After focusing too much on his space-emo project Angels & Airwaves, he’s been booted from Blink-182. He went so far as to say that Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker were conspiring against him. But that’s not the only conspiracy going on in DeLonge’s world — turns out the government has been spying on him too.

In a new interview with Paper Mag, DeLonge claims that the government has been keeping tabs on him for years. And it’s not the juvenile sort of voyeurism documented in his Dude Ranch classic “Voyeur,” either — rather than hiding in a tree and waiting for him to change, they’ve gone ahead and tapped his phones. All this because he deeply and truly believes that aliens exist.

In the piece, DeLonge claimed that he’s had his phones tapped for “quite some time” due to some top secret recordings of Congressional hearings he was in possession of. “People from NASA, Rome, the Vatican, you name it, they’re all on there,” he said. “The top 36 hours that summarized the best parts of all of that footage, I had it hidden in my house for a period of time, and during that time I was flying this person out along with somebody that was Wernher von Braun’s right-hand assistant. Wernher von Braun was a Nazi scientist that we brought over to build our Apollo rockets that got us to the moon, and on his deathbed he told this person a bunch of stuff, and I was flying them out to Los Angeles and we were taking certain meetings. At that time a lot of weird stuff started happening.”

Whoever’s watching DeLonge has been doing much worse than just spying, too. Apparently they’ve been using secret mind control techniques on the pop punk icon. “At the time I didn’t know it, but the person I was dealing with was being awoken in the middle of the night with clicking and buzzing noises and falling on the ground vomiting, every morning at 4 a.m.,” he said. “I know now that those are artifacts from mind-control experiments, where the same technology that we use to find oil underground, we can zap somebody at the same frequency that the brain operates on, and it can cause some really horrific things to happen.”

In the interview, DeLonge goes on to describe a recent visit to Area 51, his opinions on conspiracy theories, 9/11, the moon landing and his truly impressive knowledge of spacecraft. Not once does he talk about wanting to fuck a dog.

Of course, this is hardly the first time Tom DeLonge has gone off about his belief in aliens and a grand government cover-up. As a bonus, listen to the performer discuss the phenomena on the legendary radio program Coast to Coast last November right here.
