He says he'll try again next summer.

Chris Brown, it seems, won’t get the message. Even after 13,000 people petitioned to keep the rapper out of Nova Scotia in 2013—with giant corporate sponsors like Molson Coors and Rogers distancing themselves from the event—the domestic assault-charged rapper is still trying to get north of the border. He’s scheduled to perform on a stacked bill with Tyga and Trey Songz in Montreal and in Toronto, but today, he announced on Twitter that he’s been turned away.

Here’s what he wrote (the tweet has since been deleted).

Yeah, no shit. Brown, after all, has faced serious charges: In 2009, he was convicted for felony domestic assault charges after he attacked his then-girlfriend Rihanna. (Maybe the RiRi-obsessed Drake or Toronto rapper Lyracist tipped off Canadian officials about Brown’s arrival.) Next, he was jailed after attacking a man in 2013, breaking his nose after calling him homophobic slurs—a bizarre mirror of when he attacked Frank Ocean. Then, last month, his probation was revoked after he performed at a San Jose concert. The problem? His probation constrained him to Los Angeles County.

Brown, meanwhile, collaborated with Tyga on the recently released Fan of a Fan: The Album.

So yes, there are plenty of reasons why he’d be turned away at the border. See you in the summer, Chris. No, scratch that. You’ll probably be turned away at the border then, too.
