While this is an understatement for Mastodon fans, guitarist Brent Hinds is a bit of an eccentric. A country boy who grew up playing the banjo, his distinct guitar style is out shined only by his face tattoo, and his with more than a handful of projects on the go at any given time, nobody’s ever been able to question his work ethic.

And now he’s an actor.

Loudwire says that Hinds, who once carved a giant wooden penis just to say he could, has been cast as Jackass alumnus Ryan Dunn in Bam Margera’s I Needed Time to Stay Useless.

The film is yet another Margera vanity project and seems to merge the drama with documentary, with Hinds reportedly doing a stand-up job filling in as Dunn, who died in June of 2011 in a drunk driving accident wherein he was reportedly driving as fast as 140 miles per hour in his Porsche 911 GT3.
