Live Abbey Road camera catches violent hit and run accident

As album covers go, Abbey Road is one of the most iconic ever. And because its so easily recreated, a live camera was installed to catch fans awkwardly imitating the fabulous 4’s most infamous album art at London’s most recognizable crosswalk.

Sometimes, this leads to funny results, and over the years the camera has caught everything from a man wearing a yellow submarine to a waddle of real life penguins. But this weekend, shit got dark when the camera caught a woman getting violently hit by a car.

We hope she’s okay, but it doesn’t look good—completely ignoring the rules of the road, the pedestrian jets across both lanes of traffic willy nilly. On LiveLeak, where the video was originally posted, the latest update is that she’s in recovery, but Deadspin‘s tried to contact London authorities to no avail. Worse, it looks like the driver totally bails after hitting her.

It’s important to remember: For vanity or not, crosswalks exist for a reason. Even the Beatles looked both ways before crossing. Here’s the video:
