Entering its 9th year, the Polaris Music Prize is perhaps Canadian music’s highest honour. Regardless of how you feel about its winners past and present, the annual award opens a necessary dialogue surrounding the country’s industry, and moreover, does its part in raising awareness not just for its artists, but for its causes.

One such cause is MusiCounts, the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences supported charity that’s made it its mission to keep music programs alive in school. For the 6th year running, the two have joined forces to raise money and awareness for music education.

While last year’s Kathleen Edwards swear jar no doubt ended up an intriguing fundraising opportunity, this year the Polaris Music Prize has generously donated a fantastic prize pack currently being auctioned off on eBay. Set to end on September 8th, the Ultimate Travel Package is filled with perks, including 2 tickets to the gala, VIP treatment, two nights’ accommodations at the Eaton Chelsea Hotel and round-trip airfare for 2 from anywhere in Canada. You’ll also get to go behind the scenes during show rehearsals and spots at the sure to be electric after party. Full details are available on eBay.

Pretty sweet, right? Even better, the money goes to a great cause. Be sure to bid the package here.

The Polaris Music Prize will announce its 2014 winner at a gala on September 22. We’ll be livestreaming the whole event—so be sure to tune in to see who wins the $30,000 prize.
