Arcade Fire share new song, "I Give You Power"

Arcade Fire have been stewing behind the scenes on new music for a minute now, and finally, we’ve got our first taste of the band’s post-Reflektor sound.

With the help of legendary soul singer Mavis Staples, the increasingly iconic Canadian outfit released “I Give You Power” today through Tidal. At 3:43, it’s shorter than most of the songs on Reflektor, but given that most of the criticisms of their last album stemmed from its noticeable bloat, that’s not necessarily a bad thing. As for the sound, it’s not without Reflektor‘s groove, but it’s decidedly darker in tone, with its crawling organ and wavering, bass-heavy backbone. Honestly? It kind of rules.
