With 15 albums to their name and a career stretching back to 1970, Aerosmith have written a helluva lot of songs. So, we can’t fault Steven Tyler for forgetting a lyric here or there. Still, we’ve expect him to remember the words to his biggest hits—I’m not even a huge fan, but I could easily recite the key lines in “Dream On,” “Dude Looks Like a Lady,” or “Rag Doll.” And “Crazy”? That’s child’s play, bruv.

But maybe I—we—are a little more clear-headed than Steven Tyler, whose age and history with mind-altering substances might be catching up to him. When Lithuanian buskers ran into him prior to an Aerosmith gig, they played an impromptu violin and accordion rendition of “Crazy,” one of the biggest singles from 1993’s Get a Grip. What follows is truly bizarre: When Tyler can’t remember most of the lyrics, he subs in a mix of mushmouth singing, awkward silence, and off-putting falsetto screeching. Watch it unfold below.
