Now in its second year, the Prism Prize has announced its shortlist of the ten best Canadian music videos of 2013, and the list is as fantastic as it is diverse, even with Arcade Fire nabbing two nomination spots. See the list in full below.
Arcade Fire – Reflektor
Drake – Started From the Bottom
Jessy Lanza – Kathy Lee
Hollerado – So It Goes
Young Galaxy – New Summer
The Belle Game – River
Majical Cloudz – Childhood’s End
Keys N Krates – Dum Dee Dum
Arcade Fire – Afterlife
Shad – Fam Jam (Fe Sum Immigrins)
Established in 2012, the Prism Prize tasks more than 90 jurors to narrow down the best in Canadian music videos in an attempt to recognize the medium; like Polaris, the winners are selected entirely on artistic merit. Last year, Rich Aucoin and director Noah Pink won the prize for “Brian Wilson is A.L.I.V.E.”
The winner will be announced on March 23rd at a Grand Prize gala. Who do you think takes it this year?
