If I know anything about humankind, it’s that we love building big shit for the sake of it. A very recent and very terrible example of this is the 407-foot replica of the Eagles’ 16-times-platinum Hotel California, built to sit on top of the Forum in Los Angeles to coincide with the venue’s reopening and The Eagles’ six-night residency on January 15th, 17th, 18th, 22nd, 24th, and 25th.

That’s 250,000 square feet of Eagles. 50,000 pounds. 5.7 acres of the only music besides CCR your dad ever puts on. It’s technically unplayable as it is just a piece of painted plastic, but it will spin at 17 mph, and will be visible from planes overhead.
