I love a good collaboration and this track “The Fire” is no exception.

Brooklyn-based bands French Horn Rebellion and Savoir Adore teamed up to bring us this great electro-pop song, just in time for best of 2013 mixtapes. The two bands not only share a hometown, but are related by marriage (David of FHR is married to Deidre of Savoir Adore). Up until this point, the two haven’t made music together but finally decided to try blending Savoir Adore‘s forest fantasy pop blends with French Horn Rebellion‘s hot dancefloor beats. Five listens in, I think it was a great idea.

The two say about their song: “Winter is here. As the snow falls and icicles form we need to keep a fire in our hearts. We pack into cozy bars to get warm and dance by the firelight to remember we’re alive.”

Cuddle up under the disco ball. Dance the night away.
