This morning, Songkick, revealed that they’ve been running a tally for the hardest working bands of the year. Calculating the numbers of showed played and the distance travelled, the website has indexed the 10 hardest working bands of 2013—and while L.A. indie troupe Local Natives topped the chart, we’re most surprised by who landed at number six.

Cut my life into pizza, it’s Papa Roach.

The Jacoby Shaddix-led rap metal icons—who are somehow still releasing overly melodramatic music, having dropped The Connection LP in 2012—have indeed been busy: They played 147 times in 2013, or roughly one show every two and a half days. They travelled 105, 261 km, which could’ve taken them a third of the way to the moon (or across the TransCanada highway 12 times). And along with trips to the U.K. and Germany, the fishnet-toting outfit hit humble tour stops like Lloydminster, AB, Coquitlam, B.C., and Canandaigua, NY.

Can’t fault ’em for that. Here’s the full index of 2013’s hardest working bands, as compiled by Songkick.

According to Songkick, Papa Roach was only outperformed by the aforementioned Local Natives, Kendrick Lamar, Alt-J, Imagine Dragons and Foals. Surprisingly, Papa Roach outperformed acts like One Direction, Justin Bieber and Macklemore, international pop acts with global appeal. Meanwhile, only one Canadian band made the top 10—Tegan and Sara, whose incredible 2013 album, Heartthrob, brought the Albertan duo to international audiences.

So, we tip our red Yankees hats to you, Jacoby. Here’s that song where he sings about pizza, running, crying, and all that other good shit.
