Check out Miley Cyrus' striking cover of Lana Del Rey's "Summertime Sadness"

Through all the forced controversy surround her naked body it’s easy to forget that Miley Cyrus is actually really, really talented. Say what you will about her publicity stunts, but the girl can sing, and this Lana Del Rey cover aims to prove it.

In stark contrast to her latest collaboration with Future, which features a video that’s like a bad, J.J. Abrams inspired take on Mass Effect fan fiction, this BBC Live Lounge rendition is stripped, even with multiple guitarists, backup singers and a double bass. She retains much of the original “Summertime Sadness” charm, which is to say it’s still starkly bleak and haunting.
