10 costume ideas for Arcade Fire's tour dress code

From secret shows to viral marketing, Arcade Fire have really stuck to their vision during Reflektor‘s promotional circuit. Some stunts have been better received than others, but their latest might take the cake when it comes to presumptuousness: according to Ticketmaster, they’re asking fans attending their massive upcoming arena tour to dress in “formal attire or costume.”
This could be super fun, of course, but where do we draw the line? And what defines formal wear? Can we show up in a Superman costume, or do we have to dress like some Vaudevillian gallivanter.
It’s unlikely this is enforced by anything more than scorn from other fans, who’ll probably be cheesed they went black tie when the guy next to them is rocking a stained Springsteen shirt, but if it is? Fuck it. Let’s just blame Ticketmaster.
Certain dates don’t seem to have the note, but Louisville’s KFC Yum! Center has it, so maybe play it safe?
