For our track of the week, we chose Glasgow heatseekers Prides

Prides are the Glasglow based trio of Stewart Brock (vocals/keys), Callum Wiseman (guitar) and Lewis Gardiner (drums/producer).  This summer, they hit the blogopshere with the song “Out Of The Blue,” turning the heads of my notable brethren The Line Of Best Fit, Neon Gold and Pigeons and Planes.  Seeing as how I check these sites often, I’m not sure how I missed this.

Better late than never.

Prides formed in 2013 out of the ashes of several local bands, signing to Island Records under a different name—they were originally called Midnight Lion. This summer, the band raised their profile by leaps and bounds, playing large festivals (including the U.K.’s Reading and Leeds) and landing themselves on BBC Radio 1.  They’re just about to invade this side of the pond, making their U.S. debut at New York City’s CMJ next week.

They’re a band to watch right now. Here’s “Out Of The Blue.”

The band have also shown that they can pump out a great remix, check out their spin on Sir Sly’s “Gold”.
