Remembering the live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles hair metal band that toured the world.
In 1990, Pizza Hut invented a live action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles hair metal band that toured the world and played a sold out show at Radio City Music Hall.
The Coming Out of Their Shells Tour debuted on August 17, 1990. Shredder tries to destroy all music with his De-Harmonic Convergence Converter, while our heroes battle him through the power of song and rudimentary fight choreography.
In the accompanying behind-the-scenes special, Raph is seen writing lyrics on Pizza Hut boxes, which also litter the stage set. And the soundtrack was only available in Pizza Hut with the purchase of a large single-topping pie and collectable cup.
We explore this weird musical tragedy and the uncontrollable mess of TMNT merchandise that it was a part of in a new series, This Exists.
