I seemed to have developed a bit of a thing for electro-R&B duo ASTR, as their Soundcloud page is one of my regular stopping points online these days.

The duo live, work, and write music in New York City and met three years ago in a Manhattan yoga class. They discovered they shared a musical and artistic sensibility “informed by cinema noire, Miami Vice and urban dreamscapes.” ASTR was born.

Zoe is a New York native and former major label refuge, while Adam is a recovering vinyl addict with a penchant for ’60s/’70s cinema scores, Disco, and the fingers for anything with keys (vintage synths, guitar and bass). Together, they make some great music, and the blogs have responded by picking up their song “Operate” five months ago. Earlier this month, we were treated to another; the sexy, dark electronic pop of “R U With Me” (for fans of the Weeknd meets MS MR).

“As long as we’ve got each other, we can be some much better.”

Also, the band have recently put up their fantastic version of Drake‘s “Hold On We’re Going Home”, try that one out below.
