Is Tyler, the Creator making a movie?

While most of us we’re focused on Arcade Fire’s big reveal, Tyler, the Creator also had plans for 9/9/9, and as promised he delivered with what seems to be a movie trailer last night, but the circumstances surrounding Wolf the movie are vague at best. The teaser is nothing but a quick beating and a barrage of Tyler’s barrel-voiced swearing, but it could be promising. He’s always wanted to direct movies, and his Wolf Haley pseudonym’s been racking up the credits over the past few years.

Still, fans shouldn’t get their hopes up.

The trailer teases that Wolf will be out in 201_, which means it could be unfinished, it could be looking for distribution or it could be a complete fabrication. But Tyler’s enthusiasm on Twitter at least encourages that there could be something to this. In the Wolf lyric book there’s a credit that says “screenplay by Wolf Haley,” and the closing minutes of the trailer saw that Tyler’s latest album will be the movie’s soundtrack.

Is this going to be a short film based around “Rusty,” which serves as the trailer’s backing track, or will we see a feature full length from the Odd Future crew? Despite its mixed reviews, they have already conquered the airwaves with Loiter Squad, so this could be the next step.
