Daft Punk's summer smash single gets re-worked on an emulation of the 21-year-old game's composition software.

Mario Paint was an interesting snapshot of its time. Released for the Super Nintendo during the rise of computer GUIs, the game was less about playing and more about creating, and while mouse based painting activities were billed as its selling point, it’s the games surprisingly robust music software that’s stood the test of time.

Case in point, here’s one YouTube user’s arragement of Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky” reworked entirely on an emulation of the 21-year-old game. With hearts as basslines and meows and woofs as vocals, the transposition is far from flawless, but its the interpretations of Boos and 1ups that make it so enticing. With this, we can quietly lay “Get Lucky” to rest. Right? Please?
