From their inconsistent live shows to their constant disregard for professional protocol, Death Grips seem to get off on toying with their fans, but reports out of Chicago this weekend indicate that the tides of good will might finally have turned on the aggressive, contract breaching hip-hop outfit.

According to Pitchfork, the band decided not to show up to their Lollapalooza after show at the Bottom Lounge on Friday night, leading hordes of angry fans already at the venue to trash the band’s equipment, which curiously had apparently already been set up. And in an additional bit of bad taste, the venue was apparently projecting a suicide note allegedly written by a fan of the band before word got out that they weren’t coming.

Then, the next day, Lollapalooza organizers posted on the festival’s official Facebook page that the band “chose not to appear,” resulting in them being replaced by snowboarder Shaun White’s band Bad Things. Apple, meet orange.

Death Grips have also cancelled their show in Boston tonight and New York tomorrow. Oh, and the bailed on Osheaga, too. Assuming they feel like showing up, Death Grips’ next scheduled concert is on Saturday, August 24th at California’s FYF Fest.
