As if the mere fact that it's Friday wasn't enough, Justin Timberlake has pulled a fresh-baked disco pop pie right out of the oven and placed it on the windowsill of the Internet, for us all to sneak a slice.
As if the mere fact that it’s Friday wasn’t enough, Justin Timberlake has pulled a fresh-baked disco pop pie right out of the oven and placed it on the windowsill of the Internet, for us all to sneak a slice.
“Take Back the Night” will appear on the second installment of The 20/20 Experience, and while the title and chorus inexplicably share the same name as a well-known movement combating sexual violence, this is a feel-good banger that should have no trouble finding a welcome home on the charts this summer.
Musically, it shares the same vibe as summer hits like “Get Lucky” and “Blurred Lines,” though given JT’s song title, let’s ignore the fact that some have accused Robin Thicke’s #1 smash of being a rape anthem, shall we? Overall, it doesn’t really hint at anything unexpected coming from The 20/20 Experience II: Electric Boogaloo. It packs about the same wallop as any of Justin’s 20/20 singles so far, and let’s be real, there’s very little meat in those gym mats.
