When you think of Joy Division, video games aren’t likely the first thing to spring to mind, but that didn’t stop Gordon Calleja from creating Will Love Tear Us Apart?, a new free to play web-game inspired by their most famous song.

As you’d probably gather, it’s not the most traditional of gaming experiences, featuring a jarring art style and a unique level for every verse of the song. Its creators describe Will Love Tear Us Apart? as a game about “the frustration of love that lingers beyond the realization of its unsustainability,” elaborating that it encourages players to “reflect on the darker side of love.”

It’s no surprise, then, that Spin called it “the world’ most depressive video game.” Were they right? Play the game at willlovetearusapart.com [via FACT Mag]
