Outkast is likely never coming back, but lucky for fans there’s bands like Tame Impala to help mythologize even their most mundane output. The Aussie outfit stopped by triple j to cover “Prototype,” a track off André 3000’s The Love Below, which, if we’re being honest, isn’t actually an Outkast album anyways.

It’s a track that’s perhaps best remembered for its video, which started with overwrought narration before showing a white-wig wearing André 3000 twitching his way off a smoke-struck spacecraft. He trotted along, awkwardly, with what we’re to assume is the rest of his people. It was… weird. But the clip is secondary to the song, which grooves along with an old school vibe—one which Tame Impala keyed in on for this cover.
