Try-hard buttheads like 30 Seconds to Mars and will.i.am have done all they could to take the mystique out of outer space, but Canadian astronaut and all around people’s champ Commander Chris Hadfield is here to make the final frontier awesome again.

He’s set to return to Earth some time later tonight after a monumental trip aboard the International Space Station that saw him connect with people like no astronaut before him. He did it with pictures from space, tweets and Reddit AMAs, but his last stunt is even cooler.

One-upping the jam sessions and Barenaked Ladies collaborations he’d previously done, Hadfield has left his mark this time with a pretty incredible cover of David Bowie’s daunting classic “Space Oddity.” As good as the song is, the video is even better, because it was shot entirely in space!

We can safely say you’ve never seen anything like this, unless you’ve already seen this. In which case you should watch it again, high five whoever’s next to you and repeat as necessary.
