The Catholic League (which unfortunately has nothing to do with baseball) has released a vitriolic new statement attacking David Bowie as a “switch-hitting, bisexual senior citizen” in the wake of his new video for “The Next Day.”

Bill Donohue says that the video is a mess, adding that Bowie is “nothing if not confused about religion.” If you haven’t seen the video, that’s it up top, but maybe don’t watch it at work. What’s likely grinding Donohue’s gears, aside from… uh… all of it, is that the clip matches pretty ridiculous religious imagery wherein actress Marion Cotillard develops a stigmata that then aggressively spurts blood over a nearby, near-naked woman’s partly veiled body.

Oh, and David Bowie is Jesus in it, or something. Since our ears aren’t exactly tuned to the words of Bill Donohue, thanks go to Rolling Stone for the heads up on this one.
