New Yorker Starkeema Greenidge is claiming that she contracted the herpes virus after sampling Rihanna-branded lipstick at the singer’s recent gig in Brooklyn.
Naturally, she’s suing. “I wasn’t able to work for two weeks. It cost me a lot of money,” said Greenidge to the New York Daily News.
To clarify, she’s suing MAC Cosmetics, not RiRi, on allegations that those running the pop-up stand were reusing samples on clients.
“(MAC) didn’t use a fresh or new lipstick tube, but rather one that had been used for other patrons,” she explains.
According to Greenidge, she developed a cold sore on her lip two days later which doctors later diagnosed as herpes. In addition to suing for what we imagine is a big whack of cash, the suit also urges the cosmetics company to train its employees to use disposable samples.
