Vampire Weekend hung out with Steve Buscemi during Easter parade

We know how this is going to sound given today’s date, but Vampire Weekend’s Chris Baio recently realized that he’s distantly related to actor Steve Buscemi and the two brought their family ties together this past weekend to dress up in silly suits and hand chocolate out in New York City.

This really happened. Look, there’s video:

That’s Buscemi singing Vampire Weekend’s new single “Diane Young” while the band looks on and tries not to laugh.

Consequence of Sound spotted some cameras in some photos from the stunt, which happened at Sunday’s Easter Parade, leading them to think the band was shooting a music video. Not that it matters: magic is magic and this is like a million candy-coated Easter bunnies exploding out of a rainbow coloured top-hat.
