Tyler, the Creator tried to be like his buddy Frank Ocean when they collaborated on a song for Justin Bieber’s then-upcoming album Believe, maybe hoping the credit would help him break through as more than just Odd Future’s braintrust.

The problem? Billboard reports Justin Bieber didn’t like the song, frustrating the still-young producer.

Tyler says he’s got “so many beats and songs,” but no one is “giving [him] a chance yet.”

“I want to take Justin Bieber for a month and just lock him up in a cage where we sit and make music,” he says. “He’s one of the most successful people in the world, but his music could be so much tighter.”

The article goes onto talk about his new Camp Flog Gnaw agency, which helps get Tyler gigs like his latest with Mountain Dew.
