It’s starting to feel like the vibe of The Weeknd’s mixtape and album titles mirror the trajectory of our general attitude towards Abel Tesfaye’s drugged-out, emotionally-tortured R&B project:

House Of Balloons: Ooh, intriguing.
Echoes Of Silence: Yeah, ok.
Thursday: Meh.
Trilogy: See above.
Kiss Land: ????

Abel took to Twitter to announce that his first official album (Trilogy is a mixtape collection) will be called Kiss Land, including some minimal, neon sign-inspired artwork with the tweet. Is Kiss Land a physical location, or a state of mind? When Abel is romancing a lady, does he tell her he’s going to take her to Kiss Land? Is this the first installment of a trilogy, with Hug World, and 2nd Base Town being the second and third chapters in the series?

So, let’s take some bets. How long before Tesfaye gets sued? You know Gene Simmons has “Kiss Land” trademarked, just in case he wants to break into the theme park business.
