Psy's new single was going to be called "Assarabia," but he's changing it so it doesn't offend Arabs

Korean hit-maker Psy has been decided to change the title and lyrics to his “Gangnam Style” follow-up, based on concerns that some people could misinterpret its meaning. The single was originally going to be called “Assarabia,” which is apparently a Korean slang term used to describe “thrills.” Psy insists it wasn’t intended to remind anyone of a geographical region or a body part, but he’s going to tweak the title and lyrics just to be safe.

A release date for the new single has yet to be announced. Psy already has the unbelievable task of following up a gargantuan novelty hit like “Gangnam Style,” and it looks like he’ll have to go back to the drawing board for the time being. No matter how inappropriate “Assarabia” might have been, there’s no way it could have been as offensive as his “Gangnam Style” pistachio super bowl commercial remix:
