Matt and Kim’s Harlem Shake video became an instant hit within the meme that took over the interweb last week. The intro for the simple clip, which is now sitting at almost eight million views, was filmed at a recent soundcheck, the crowd shot a few hours later, and it was uploaded at around 10:30 that night.

“Twelve hours later we were coming in on a million views,” keyboardist Matt Johnson recently told AUX.

“That’s what we see for an hour and a half every show,” Johnson continues. “I explained [to the crowd] what to do, just to get weird and wild, but generally on all Matt and Kim songs, people are getting pretty wild.”
