When we last heard from Dave Mustaine he was ranting on Facebook against Men’s Wearhouse (seriously), confirming that yeah, he’s nuts. But a new announcement written this Sunday shows that there’s still a bit of humanity left in him, with Megadave writing that he’s opening a soup kitchen in Haiti.
No, really. Here’s what he had to say:
“I was approached with an opportunity, and thanks to your unwavering support, my family and I have been able to fund a soup kitchen in Haiti with a ministry called, “Outside The Bowl,” and you will be proud to know that when it is started (which will be very soon), we will be feeding up to 8,000 meals a day to the less fortunate.”
Of course he still managed to make the charity about himself, saying that even when he’s being “vilified and having [his] character assassinated” he can find comfort in feeding the needy. It’s likely a PR stunt, with the opening paragraph declaring his desire to change the opinion of his critics. But that’s fine: 8,000 meals is a lot.
Good for you, Dave. Maybe you’re not a total asshole after all.
(Oh, and one fan left this comment on the post. We had to share)
