In October, the nominees for the 2013 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees were announced, and Canadians especially crossed their fingers that Rush would make the cut. Today, Rush did just that, along with Public Enemy, Heart, Randy Newman, and, posthumously, Donna Summer and Albert King.
“It’s a terrific honor and we’ll show up smiling,” Rush’s Geddy Lee told Rolling Stone. “It made my mom happy, so that’s worth it.”
The induction will take place April 18 in Los Angeles, and will be broadcast on HBO May 18.
