It’s been more than a year since Amy Winehouse died but the book on her life still can’t be closed with word that there’ll be yet another inquest into how it happened with the coroner who performed the original autopsy’s qualifications being called into question.

In what has an ongoing saga for the Winehouse family, who reportedly didn’t ask for the file to be re-opened, The Associated Press says that assistant deputy coroner Suzanne Greenaway’s original inquest was never heard due to a pretty nitpicky technicality. According to the rules, she had to have been a registered U.K. lawyer for at least five years, and though she’d practiced law for a decade in Australia, it was enough to have her boss and husband, London coroner Andrew Reid, suspended. He’s since resigned.

As the original report states, it’s unlikely that anything new will come of this. In short, it’s the same old wound being dug at once more. The new hearing will happen on January 8th, 2013.
